Hi everyone. In this video, I want to walk you through some very important changes to the SMS 10 DLC compliance landscape that you might have already heard of. So I want to walk you through them in this video and what you can do to make sure that your business is compliant. So in this video, I will first do a quick overview of the new requirements for A2P 10DLC, along with some of the associated deadlines and penalties. I'll walk you through what you can do in the app to register your business. And spoiler alert, we've made it very simple. And then I'm going to leave you with some additional resources that you might need. So first, let's get straight into the new requirements. In a nutshell, as of July 5 of this year, all businesses that are using 10 digit long codes, in other words, local numbers, to send and receive SMS and MMS in the US. We'll need to make sure that all of these numbers are fully registered and we're going to speak in the video to what does that mean as far as the deadlines and the penalties? Starting on June 1 of this year, some of the carriers will start to impose additional carrier fees for unregistered messages. Moving into July 5 of this year, there will be gradual message blocking that businesses with unregistered numbers will start to experience. And finally, moving into August 31 of this year, all unregistered traffic will be blocked. So that's the key date you need to keep in mind, as you go about making sure that your business is compliant. So from here, the main question that will be on your mind is what 10 DLC package is right for me between the Low Volume Standard, the Standard package and the newly released Sole Proprietor package. So I'm going to walk you through a very quick, process flow chart that will help you identify just that. So the first thing you need to figure out is whether as a registered business with a valid EIN in the United States, you intend to use local numbers to send messages to your customers in the United States. If the answer is yes, the next step for you would be to figure out what's the message volume, what sort of traffic are you expecting to have per day from these local numbers? If the number is above 2000 then you would need to go with the standard package. If it's lower than that, then the Low Volume Standard package, as the name suggests, would be enough for you. Now, what happens if you are not a registered business? Maybe you're a hobbyist. Maybe you're a sole proprietor running a one man business. Then there is the newly added option of the Sole Proprietor, which by the way, limits you to one number only that is available to you. Now, the good news is we made the registration to all these three packages, super simple, all in the Salesmsg app. And that's what I'm going to walk you through next. So the 10DLC registration process is all under the compliance section of the organization settings. In the Salesmsg app, as an owner or an admin in the application, you'll be able to go through the process. Now there are three steps to the process. First, you need to complete your business profile. This is where you give us general information about your business, including your EIN if you have one. And the good news about this section is that although it's required for ATP, 10DLC, it will open up other compliance products for you, such as toll free, verification, should you decide to choose to use any of these compliance products. So completing the business profile is really simple. You start by letting us know in which country you intend to send messages. In this case, obviously the United States, because that's where this is going to be applicable to you. Now here's a key step whether or not you have a registered business with a valid EIN in the United States. And the reason this step is important is because it determines the type of package that is applicable for your business, like I mentioned in the previous slide. So if you do not have an EIN, then only the Sole Proprietor will be available to you. It will limit you to one number only. On the other hand, if you have an EIN, then you have one of the two options. One for the Low Volume and one for the Standard package which has higher volume limits and then higher throughput as well. So just to show you what it looks like with the sole proprietor, because it's the latest edition, I'm going to go ahead with no EIN. Then from there, you can just add the information about your business name, state address and all that. From there, you just need to let the carriers know a little bit more about your business, the type of industry where you operate, and then the authorized user. So this is the individual whose name is going to be on the registration, right? And you can choose to select a secondary authorized representative if you wish to do so, and add their information. Once you save and complete, then the next step will open up for you here which is the campaign, as well as brand registration. Now, the brand is nothing but what customers know you as, right? So that's the entity your customers know and will be receiving messages from the use case is a little bit more information that the carriers need about the specifics of how you intend to use SMS, right? So it's again, very simple. You will see here that there's only one option available, the sole proprietor, because I selected no EIN and it tells you here what your limits are one m thousand messages per day as well message segments per day as well as at a one message per second throughput. And there is the fee associated with this package as well. So you're going to have to select the number, right, the local number that you would like to register. As part of this registration, you're going to have to give a use case description. You're marketing new offers to my leads and customers, right? So then you need to provide the carriers with sample messages. You can pick a couple from the regular ones you use. We give you some examples here that you can edit and put your own. But just to give you an idea of what these need to look like. And there's always more information here and I'm going to leave you at the end of the video with some additional resources that will help you with all these steps. Right, then you need to let the carriers know what is the opt in method. So what this is, is how do you collect consent from the prospective recipients of your messages? To receive messages from you right? There are many methods and for whichever one you pick you need to attach a sample. Right? So I'm going to go, I collect consent via text and then I'm going to give specifically what the opt in message is to receive SMS from our business, please reply yes, this is a standard example of an opt in message. And then you'd also need to provide actual screenshots of either your app or whatever system you use where the opt-in message is clearly displayed. Right? So I've added one folder here and then I'm going to go to the next step here. You just get an overview of the associated fees. There's one time fee and there's recurring fees and it's all detailed in the Help article I'm going to leave a link to at the end of this video for you to understand what your options are. And then from there you just submit your application. This is just a QA environment I'm demoing this flow on but you'll be able to see the actual status. So in review, Verified and Verified for your number you'll be prompted in the actual live app with the ability to just click a CTA and receive a text message to verify your number. And then you will be able to track the status of your application in real time. And then you should also receive notifications should there be an issue with the registration and then for you to go back and fix it so that's in a nutshell what the registration process looks like. So as I said at the beginning of the video, I'm going to leave you with a couple more additional resources from our knowledge base. The first is if you go to help salesmessage.com, you can search for A2P 10DLC frequently asked questions. All the deadlines and the associated fees are all listed there clearly, and the detailed description of each of the different packages so that you understand which one will be applicable for your business. And there is also another article called Register for ATP Ten DLC, which walks you through the details of the registration process that I just walked you through. So that's it for this short video. I hope it's useful. Stay tuned for more announcements and more resources from you for coming from us to help you more as you navigate these new changes. And thanks again for watching. Bye.
